About Churches of Christ Care

Care is a leading provider of aged care, early childhood, child protection, and affordable housing and support services in Queensland.

As a not-for-profit organisation we proudly support in excess of 22,000 clients annually in urban, rural and remote localities. We operate 137 services made possible with the support of more than 2,300 staff, over 600 volunteers, 513 foster carers and 239 in-home and family day carers.

Care has been firmly established on a foundation of Christian values, commitment to quality care, and trust and respect for clients and the community.

Our mission
Caring for communities – God’s unconditional love in action.

Our vision
Care will be a vibrant, caring Christian community where people work, grow, contribute and belong.

Our values
Care is built on the following values:
• Christian compassion and social justice
• Valuing clients, staff and stakeholders
• Open and honest communication
• Continuously improving
• Responsibility and accountability
• Empowered teams
• Mutual trust and respect.

Services provided by Care are funded by a mix of government subsidies, grants, fees and charges for our services such as early childhood services and residential aged care, and through fundraising activities.

As a division of Churches of Christ in Queensland (a mainstream Christian church), Care upholds Christian values and community spirit. Our services are offered to all those in need regardless of religion.

Care is built on a foundation of Christian values, commitment to quality care, and trust and respect for clients and the community. As a body incorporated under the Religious, Educational and Charitable Institutions Act, Care reports to the annual general meeting of the incorporated body.

Care has two operational divisions: Aged Care and Family and Community Care. Care’s operational divisions are supported by several divisions including Corporate Services, Capital Development and the Executive Services Group.

In our Annual Report each year Care provides a review of our financial performance, services delivered and new developments. The link to the 2008/09 Annual Report is included below.

In 2005 Care celebrated 75 years of caring for communities. Our anniversary was an opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank those who have made it possible for Care to help so many people for 75 years.  Our celebrations marked their achievements and our future ability to support people in need in Queensland.

A special Commemorative Book was produced to celebrate this milestone.  To view the booklet, please click on the link or contact Care's head office to obtain a copy.
